1.1. The I ETHNOGRAPHIC FILM FESTIVAL OF PARÁ is an initiative of the Group of Research in Visual Anthropology Visagem (PPGSA/UFPA) and has to disseminate, promote and reward audiovisual productions that present a recognized technical quality in the area, as well as promoting dialogue between producers and researchers. Will be accepted National and international film productions that deal with contemporary sociocultural issues about people, social groups, historical processes of anthropological and related subjects.
Registration is free and can be done between April 15 and June 15, 2017.
1.2. The Festival will be composed of films selected by recognized professionals from the audiovisual and social sciences invited by the Organizing Committee.
The I ETHNOGRAPHIC FILM FESTIVAL OF PARÁ will take place in Belém between November 9 and 11, 2017.
3.1 Will be accepted audiovisual productions made from 2014, in digital format at any time in duration, that have been or will not be shown in other competitive shows.
3.2 The films will be pre-selected by Curator da Mostra. The release of the selected films for the Competitive Show will take place on the festival's own website. Films not selected for the Competitive Show can be shown at the Festival's Parallel Shows, divided by themes and curated by the Festival.
3.3 For the effective participation of the selection, it is necessary to fill in the registration form available on the website.
3.4 Films produced in a language other than Portuguese should be subtitled or accompanied by a digital translation format of the dialogues, titles, and written or spoken texts inserted therein.
3.5 The films selected for the Competitive Show will be invited to participate in the event by the organizers, and the costs will not be the responsibility of the general organization of the festival.
4.1 The Jury of the Competitive Show will be composed of specialists in the field of cinema and anthropology. No member of the Jury may participate in the competitive show. No member of the Organizing Committee will be part of the Jury or participate in the Competitive Exhibition. The decision of the Jury is final.
4.2 The Jury will award the following trophies:
•Best Ethnographic Short Film, lasting fifteen minutes or less;
•Best Half-length Ethnographic Film, lasting more than fifteen minutes and less than fifty-five minutes;
•Best Ethnographic Feature Film, lasting more than fifty-five minutes.
For the Best Film of the Popular Jury - The audience and the participants of the Festival shows will choose the winning film of this award mode.
4.3 The Organizing Committee of I EFFP reserves the right to suggest special recommendations in accordance with the evaluations of the Jury.
5.1 The films contained in the Festival's official program may be inserted on the Internet by the I EFFP website, with the prior authorization of those who own the rights.
5.2 The release of the films selected for the Competitive Show and the other Parallel (non-competitive) Shows of the I EFFP will be made on August 10, 2017.
5.3 The act of sending the application form implies full acceptance of the above regulation, including the use of personal information contained in the application form for non-commercial use.
5.4 The Festival reserves the right to make public exhibitions of selected films and videos for programs that publicize the event, in festival itineraries, at no additional cost.
